Chennai: Three men were arrested for the gang rape of a 20-year-old nurse in a car and then dumping her on the road near Chengalpet. The issue came to light after her parents gave a complaint to the Chengalpet All Women Police Station on Monday.

According to a report on Times of India, the survivor completed her diploma at a private institution more than a year ago and underwent six-month training at a private hospital.

On Saturday at 11 pm, police said, the survivor was waiting along with her friend to board a bus to Vellore for attending an interview. Upon learning that she was set to get the bus, one of the survivor's friends, Saravanan, arrived in a car.

She reportedly went along with Saravanan.

The accused on the way called his friends Sarathy and Surya Prakash. He said that he would pick midway and once he picked them up, the trio took the woman to a deserted spot, said the report.

They parked the car and forced the woman to consume liquor. They then gang-raped her. After the assault, they dumped her on the spot and left the place.

On Sunday, the survivor woke up on a roadside and then reached home. However, she then tried to attempt suicide. Yet her parents stopped her and learned about the truth. They then filed a case with the police.
