The Chief Minister then went on to list the role of VOC, Velu Natchiyar, Bharathiyar and Kattaboman in the freedom struggle and expressed his shock over the rejection of the tableau.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday said that the tableau which was rejected by the Central Committee for Republic Day Celebration in New Delhi under the topic ‘India 75’ would be showcased during the R-Day Celebrations to be held in Chennai.
The Chief Minister also said that the tableau would be kept for display in important towns of the state and the photo exhibition which was recently held in Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus under the topic "Tamil Nadu in Freedom Struggle" would also be held in important cities across India.
On Tuesday, the announcement of the Chief Minister came after Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote to the CMs of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal over the exclusion of the tableau.

In a press release, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin said, "I am saddened and shocked to hear about the rejection of the tableau. They have made such a decision even after we made correction thrice in the proposed tableau."
Further, the Chief Minister went on to list the role of VOC, Velu Natchiyar, Bharathiyar and Kattaboman in the freedom struggle and said that the tableau with such history has been rejected.
Hence, the CM said, “The Tamil Nadu government will display the rejected tableau during the R-Day celebration in Chennai. The tableau will also be sent for the public's view across the state. Along with that, the photo exhibition which was held in Koyambedu bus terminus on Tamil Nadu's role in Freedom Struggle will also be displayed in important cities of other states."
