Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Inaugurates Kalaignar Centenary Jallikattu Arena Near Madurai's Alanganallur
The newly inaugurated arena is now all set to host its first Jallikattu event in Madurai on Wednesday.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated Kalaignar Centenary Jallikattu Arena in Keelakarai near Alanganallur, Madurai on Wednesday. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister unveiled the statues of former CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi and a Jallikattu statue. The newly inaugurated arena is now all set to host its first Jallikattu event in Madurai on Wednesday.

After the inauguration, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said, "The Jallikattu arena, a traditional sport of Tamils, has been built by the DMK government in Madurai. The opening of this Jallikattu arena during the Karunanidhi centenary is an extra special feature. I am proud to have my name in history as Stalin who built the Jallikattu stadium."
In 2022, the Tamil Nadu government officially announced the construction of the Kalaignar Centenary Jallikattu Arena. The arena features a viewers' gallery with 3,700 seats spread across two floors situated at the foothills of Vaithurnalai.
Alongside this, the arena includes essential facilities such as a bull shed, a bull barn, and a veterinary hospital. The premises also accommodate a museum to enrich the experience for both participants and spectators.
