Singapore-Bound IndiGo Flight From Tiruchirapalli Makes Emergency Landing In Indonesia — Details
The passengers were provided accommodation and an alternate aircraft is being flown to Kualanamu to take the passengers to Singapore.
An Indigo flight from Trichy bound for Singapore was diverted to an airport in Indonesia after the cabin crew noted a burning smell in the flight on Tuesday. The alert crew with the procedures safely landed the aircraft at Kualanamu airport in Medan of Indonesia and safely evacuated the passengers.
According to ANI, “IndiGo A320ceo operating 6E-1007 from Tiruchirappalli to Singapore was diverted to Kualanamu airport, Medan (Indonesia). A burning smell was noted in the cabin by the crew. The pilot followed procedures and as a precaution diverted to nearest airport, Kualanamu and the aircraft landed safely.”

“Initial aircraft inspection on ground were satisfactory. The aircraft was held at Kualanamu for detailed inspection. The passengers were provided accommodation and an alternate aircraft is being flown to Kualanamu to take the passengers to Singapore,” it said.
Last month, an IndiGo plane enroute to Bagdogra returned to Delhi on Saturday afternoon due to a technical problem. In a statement, Indigo said, "The pilot noticed a technical issue and requested a turnback. The aircraft landed safely and is undergoing necessary inspection. An alternate aircraft was provided for the passengers to be flown to Bagdogra."
Meanwhile, DGCA ordered a probe into the incident. Over 130 passengers were present in the plane, sources told PTI.
Overall, more than 1000 technical snags have been reported in flights during the period of 2021-23.
