Senthil Balaji Arrest: DMK-Led Alliance Parties To Hold Protest At Coimbatore On April 16
Secular Progressive Alliance announced a protest after ED arrested Minister Senthil Balaji in a cash-for-job scam case on Wednesday.
A day after the arrest of Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance announced a public protest meeting to oppose BJP’s “dictatorial acts” at Coimbatore on Friday. The DMK said that their campaign would continue till they deliver a final blow to the BJP.
In a tweet, DMK said, “Despite the Supreme Court's admonition, the BJP's Enforcement Directorate does not appear to be changing its ways. To oppose the BJP's anti-democratic and vengeful dictatorial acts, a "Public protest meeting" will be conducted on June 16, 2023 (Friday) at 5.00 pm at Sivananda Colony, #Coimbatore, on behalf of the Secular Progressive Alliance Parties.”
“Our people's campaign will continue until we deliver the final blow to the BJP,” it said.
Despite the Supreme Court's admonition, the BJP's Enforcement Directorate does not appear to be changing its ways.

In the release, the DMK recalled Enforcement Directorate of the Supreme Court's order to not create an "atmosphere of fear". The SC made the statement after Chattisgarh government said that the ED was trying to implicate CM Bhupesh Baghel in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Rs 2,000 crore liquor scam in the state.
Meanwhile, SPA parties announced a protest after ED arrested Minister Senthil Balaji in a cash-for-job scam case on Wednesday. The ED made the arrest after conducting 18-hour searches at the residence and office of the Minister. However, while ED was questioning the Minister, he reportedly developed a chest discomfort and was later admitted to Tamil Nadu Multi Speciality Government Hospital in Omandurar.
