OPS was summoned for the ninth time on March 9 and the AIADMK leader has on Monday deposed for it for the first time. The commission resumed its inquiry on March 7, with a panel of doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi, joining the inquiry through video conferencing.

According to a Times of India report, this seemed to be the final leg of the inquiry following which the Commission will submit its report to the government.

The commission headed by Justice (Retd) A Arumughaswamy was reportedly set up by the government of Tamil Nadu in September 2017. According to the reports, on April 29, 2019, the Supreme Court stayed the further proceedings needed to be done by the commission based on the petition filed by Apollo Hospital.
