Will Do Everything That Needs To Be Done For Erode: EVKS Elangovan On Bypoll Results–Exclusive
Erode East Bypoll Result 2023: EVKS Elangovan also assured that he will join with Minister Muthusamy to do everything that needs to be done for Erode.
Chennai: DMK alliance candidate EVKS Elangovan who inches towards recording a thumping victory with a record margin in Erode East Bypoll 2023 sat down with ABP Nadu for an exclusive interview. EVKS Elangovan said that they knew of the victory a month ago.
Speaking to ABP Nadu, DMK alliance candidate EVKS Elangovan said, "Not just the leads, we will definitely win. We knew about the victory a month back. This win is for TN CM Stalin's government."
"Stalin is the CM who fulfilled 80 percent of poll promises in 20 months' time. I will join with Minister Muthusamy to do everything that needs to be done for Erode," said EVKS Elangovan.
Talking to ABP Nadu, Minister Muthusawmy said, "We will work faster if Opposition parties criticise us to prove that the allegations are a falsehood."
The Congress by-polls were necessitated after the death of sitting MLA Thirumahan Everaa in January. The MLA suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the way to the hospital. Thirumahan was the son of Congress candidate EVKS Elangovan and grandson of EVR Periyar.
After the notification of polls, 77 candidates got into the fray. DMK alliance fielded EVKS Elangovan while AIADMK fielded Thennarasu. Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi fielded Menaka Navaneethan.
The Erode By-poll was significant for both the Dravidian majors. It was necessary for DMK since it could pose as a curtain raised ahead of the General Elections 2024.
On the other hand, the win was mandatory for AIADMK since this was the first time the party was contesting in polls after the SC verdict favouring Opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami.
