Cyclone Michaung: TN CM Stalin Announces Rs 6,000 Cash Assistance To Affected People

Tamil Nadu government said that the assistance to the people whose livelihoods were affected will be paid at ration shops in the form of cash.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin-led government announced Rs 6,000 relief to people affected by cyclone Michaung. The government said that the assistance to the people whose livelihoods were affected will be paid at ration shops in the form of cash. The state also increased the relief to the people affected under other categories.

According to ANI, Tamil Nadu government announced Rs 6,000 as livelihood assistance to people affected by the impact of Cyclone Michung. Cash will be given to people through ration shops (public distribution system).
 
 
 

A release from the Tamil Nadu government said CM Stalin ordered to provide Rs 6,000 relief for the people whose livelihood was affected in Cyclone Michaung. He also ordered to provide relief in the form of cash at the ration shops in flood-affected places. 

Additionally, the statement mentioned that the ex-gratia for the families of flood victims will be raised from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The current relief amount of Rs 5,000 for affected huts will be raised to Rs 8,000. In the case of perennial crops and trees impacted by the cyclone, the compensation will be increased to Rs 22,500 per hectare, up from the previous Rs 18,000.

Those who lost their cattle due to the cyclone will get Rs 37,500 per cow or bull as against the previous assistance of Rs 30,000. Similarly, those who lost their goats will get Rs 4,000 which has been increased from the previous relief of Rs 3,000. 

The fishermen whose boats or nets affected by the cyclone will get relief ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 15 lakh, the release added.
