Police officials have reached Surat to interrogate the accused, the police said.

New Delhi: A youth was recently arrested after he allegedly issued a death threat to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, police said. According to Bihar Police, the accused was arrested from Surat with the help of Gujarat Police.

Police officials have reached Surat to interrogate the accused, the police said, as reported by ANI.

Bihar Police told ANI, "Bihar CM Nitish Kumar received a death threat through a WhatsApp message, after which Patna Police arrested the accused from Surat with the help of Gujarat Police. Patna Police officials have reached Surat for questioning of the accused."
In a similar case, a man on Tuesday made three phone calls to Union minister Nitin Gadkari's office in Nagpur, threatening the senior BJP leader if Rs 10 crore was not paid to him. The caller identified himself as Jayesh Pujari or Jayesh Kantha.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Rahul Madane said that the calls were made to Gadkari's public relations office in Nagpur. Two of the calls were made in the morning and one at noon. The caller demanded a sum of Rs 10 crore and threatened to harm Gadkari if the money was not paid. However, no life threat was made, Madane said.

Earlier in February, Bihar CM's security was attacked during the 'Samadhan Yatra' in Aurangabad. Kumar was in the district's Kanchanpur to inaugurate the Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan when the incident happened.

According to sources, residents of Kanchanpur were angry as security personnel had stopped them from meeting Kumar. As Nitish Kumar passed the crowd, someone threw a piece of a broken chair towards him, which missed him by inches.

The chair that was hurled at the CM missed him but instead hit a security person.
