Bengal: Massive Fire Breaks Out At Emami Agrotech Building In Howrah. VIDEO
The fire broke out at the godown of homegrown FMCG maker Emami in the Sankrail police station area in Howrah's Bhagabatipur.
A massive fire broke out at a godown in West Bengal's Howrah district on Saturday morning, news agency PTI reported, citing officials. The fire broke out at the godown of homegrown FMCG maker Emami in Bhagabatipur in the Sankrail police station area around 6.30 am, they said. Eleven fire engines are working to bring the blaze under control, they added.
The officials said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. They further stated that there were no reports of anyone being injured in the incident.

Last month, a massive fire broke out at a perfume godown in Kolkata. As per the officials, the godown that caught fire is situated on Elliot Road area in Kolkata. Upon receiving the information of the fire, fire tenders rushed to the spot and started a dousing operation. In another incident in Punjab, a major fire broke out at Kharar Police Station in state's Mohali district on Friday.
No one sustained injuries following the incident, however, the visuals showed vehicles parked inside the post to be on fire, as reported by the news agency ANI. Although the fire was brought under control, the parked vehicles on fire were completely damaged due to the incident. According to ANI, the cause of the fire seems to be a short circuit. An investigation to detect the cause was carried out.
In September, a fire incident at a paint factory in Kurali village of Mohali district resulted in injuries to five people. Out of the injured, two were admitted to Mohali Civil Hospital and three to the nearby Civil Hospital.
