Man Shot Dead At Union Minister's Home, Pistol Recovered

The deceased, identified as Vinay Shrivastava, was a friend of his son Vikas Kishore.

A man was shot dead at the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kaushal Kishore in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow on Friday. The deceased, identified as Vinay Shrivastava, was a friend of his son Vikas Kishore. According to the police, the incident took place around 4 a.m., as reported by the news agency ANI. Rahul Raj, DCP West Lucknow, said that the dog squad, crime branch, and forensic teams arrived at the spot for investigation after an FIR was registered on the complaint of the brother of the deceased. He also said that a pistol was recovered that belongs to Vikas Kishore.

"A person named Vinay Shrivastave was shot dead. A pistol has been recovered which belongs to Vikas Kishore. Further investigation is underway. A forensic team has also arrived and we are also searching CCTV visuals. An FIR has also been registered in this case," Raj said, as quoted by ANI.

Kaushal Kishore said that the pistol that police have recovered belongs to his son Vikas. He further said that police are conducting a thorough investigation and we are standing in support of the family members of the deceased.  

"The pistol that police have recovered belongs to my son, Vikas Kishore. Police are conducting a thorough investigation. The culprits will not be spared. Vikas Kishore was not at the residence when the incident took place. Police detained his friends and the people present there when the incident took place. The deceased body has been taken for post-mortem. Vikas was extremely sad when he got to know about this, the deceased Vinay was a very good friend of my son," Kaushal Kishore said, as quoted by ANI.

He also said, "This is a matter of investigation. Forensic teams and police have started the investigation. The person involved will not be spared. We are standing in support of the family members of the deceased. I have no idea who was at the residence when the incident took place," as per ANI.

Vikas Shrivastava, brother of the deceased said, "My brother Vinay Shrivastava has been killed at the residence of Union minister Kaushal Kishore. My brother was a friend of his son Vikas Kishore. Three people were present there when the incident took place but I don't have any idea where was Vikas Kishore when the incident took place. His licensed revolver was recovered by police from the spot," as quoted by ANI.
