RLD Denies Rumours Of Joining NDA, Says Will Contest 2024 Lok Sabha Polls With INDIA Bloc
RLD national spokesperson Anil Dubey told news agency PTI that the party MLAs met the chief minister to highlight the problems of the farmers due to drought and floods.
The Rashtriya Lok Dal on Thursday (RLD) denied the rumours of joining the National Democratic Alliance and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of spreading the rumours. The party, which is an ally of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, said it is with the Opposition’s INDIA bloc and will contest the 2024 elections together with it. The rumours of the party joining the NDA arose after a delegation of the party met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday.
However, the party national spokesperson Anil Dubey told news agency PTI that the party MLAs met the chief minister to highlight the problems of the farmers due to drought and floods.
This is being projected as a preparation for the RLD to join the NDA, which is "false", Dubey added.
He said the BJP was worried about the popularity of the RLD and that is why it is engaging in "propaganda".
Party president Jayant Chaudhary will participate in the upcoming meeting of the opposition parties in Mumbai, he added.
In the past as well, Chaudhary has denied speculations of his party, which has nine MLAs in Uttar Pradesh assembly, joining the hands with the BJP.
