Meanwhile, UP DGP Raj Kumar Vishwakarma, Principal Secretary Sanjay Prasad, and Special DG (crime) Prashant Kumar have boarded a special flight to Prayagraj. The three will lead the inquiry into the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother.

In view of the incident, heavy police forces have been deployed around the Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress and BSP headquarters in Uttar Pradesh. According to ABP Ganga sources, police have also put several leaders of opposition parties under house arrest who had questioned the police encounter of Atiq Amhed's son Asad.

The heavy police deployment around the opposition party headquarters is intended to prevent any untoward incidents and to maintain law and order in the state.
