A man has been detained by Mumbai police for allegedly sending a threatening message on Twitter to blast the city.

A man has been detained by Mumbai police for allegedly sending a threatening message on Twitter to blast the financial capital of the country, reported ANI citing Police. The police said that it received a threat around 11 am on Monday (May 22), after a person posted a threatening message on Twitter, "I am gonna blast the Mumbai very soon.”

The police have started investigating the concerned account. Further investigation into this matter is underway: Mumbai Police

According to ANI, the police have identified the person and took him into custody for interrogation. A probe is meanwhile underway in the case.

This comes days after Delhi's Amrita School in Pushp Vihar, Saket received a bomb threat via e-mail. After the threat, Delhi police and other teams reached the spot and carried out an investigation, ANI said citing police. This is the third such incident in the national capital since April 12. Earlier, Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar and Delhi Public School on Mathura Road received similar threats on April 12 and April 26 respectively. Both threats were later found to be a hoax.

Chandan Chowdhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi said, "The school has been thoroughly checked through BDT (Bomb Disposal Team) and nothing has been found."

Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar was vacated after an e-mail containing a bomb threat was received following which the Delhi Police informed the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. The school authorities asked parents to take their ward home amid the commotion. As per ABP News sources, an e-mail was received by the school after which a person named Brajesh from the school administration called up the police to inform.

The bomb squad was conducting checks inside the school premises and a Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) reached the school. "Bomb and dog squads have gone inside the school," a guardian of a student of the school was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Chandan Choudhary said that the threat was "most likely a hoax".

Suresh Yadav, Sub-Inspector, Bomb Squad, Delhi Police said, "The school has been thoroughly checked and no suspected thing has been found."
