In a tragic incident, a man, his mother and his sister all died on Tuesday of electrocution due to a street light's electric wire near Attoor in the Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred when the 21-year-old man had kept his hand on the adjacent building wall on which the wire had fallen. His mother and sister rushed to help him during which, they too were electrocuted, Thiruvattar Police were reported as saying by news agency ANI.

According to the news outlet The Indian Express, the live wire had come in contact with the tin roof of the house that Ashwin, 21, had touched following heavy rain. His mother Chitra, 46 and his sister Nithu alias 24-year-old Athira were electrocuted when they attempted to rescue Ashwin.
Thiruvattar police conducted an investigation into the case and concluded that it was the electric shock that emanated from the walls that had killed all three.

According to the news outlet The Indian Express, the live wire had come in contact with the tin roof of the house that the man, Ashwin, 21, had touched following heavy rain. His mother Chitra, 46 and his sister Nithu alias 24-year-old Athira were electrocuted when they attempted to rescue Ashwin.
The news outlet had stated that Athira was pregnant. The victims of the accident were sent to a post-mortem at a government hospital. Chitra is survived by her husband Somraj.
Earlier, a mother and her son died of electrocution late last month as they waded through a waterlogged stretch in Jalpaiguri town in north Bengal. Local eyewitnesses said that the mother, Nanibala Roy, 55, was the first to be electrocuted. As her son Tinku Roy, 34, tried to save her he got electrocuted too and died on the spot soon, as per an IANS report.
The incident took place in the Adarpara area in Jalpaiguri town. Following the unfortunate incident, a pall of gloom has descended in the entire locality since the deceased mother and son were quite popular among their neighbours.
