'Join BJP Or Bulldozer Is Ready': MP Minister Warns Congress Members, Stirs Row

A Madhya Pradesh Minister has stirred a controversy after he allegedly Congress members to join the BJP or the 'bulldozer is ready'.

Madhya Pradesh Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia has stoked controversy after he warned Congress members to join the BJP or face the threat of demolition bulldozer. A video of the minister making the controversial remark is going viral on social media. In the video the minister could be seen saying, "Move towards this side (ruling party) slowly. In 2023 (when Assembly polls are scheduled in the state) too, the BJP will form a government in MP. Mama's bulldozer is ready."

Like some other BJP-ruled states, the Madhya Pradesh government has been bulldozing the alleged illegal portions of the houses of people accused of various offences, a practice that has often been hailed by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, popularly called 'mama', as a symbol of his government's "zero tolerance" towards crime and criminals, the PTI reported.

Reacting to the comment, Guna district Congress chief Harishankar Vijaywargiya said the minister's remarks have damaged the image of the BJP. "He should exercise restraint in his language. The people of Raghogarh will give a befitting reply to him on January 20 in the polls," Vijaywargiya said as quoted by PTI.

Raghogarh is the home turf of senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh and his son Jaiwardhan Singh is the local MLA.

Recently several illegal houses and structures have been demolished across states for being constructed without proper permits and have been demolished.

In December last year, the house of the Madhya Pradesh man was bulldozed after his video of thrashing a girl when viral. The man was upset with the girl asking him to marry her. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared a video of the demolition and said that: "No one who commits atrocities on women on the land of Madhya Pradesh will be spared."

The accused, Pankaj Tripathi, was arrested said the CM. Tripathi, who was a driver by profession, had his licence cancelled as well for the offence.

The accused was initially detained for disrupting public peace before being freed under Section 151. According to a PTI report, the 19-year-old woman went to the police station to report the event, but she stated that she would not file a complaint against him.
