'Ek Thi Congress...': Bhagwant Mann Takes Swipe At Grand Old Party, Narrates 'Shortest Story' In Delhi, Punjab
“…The shortest story a mother in Delhi or Punjab, can narrate to her child is ‘Ek thi Congress’…” Mann said.
New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday took a jibe at the Congress, saying that they had the ‘shortest story’ in Delhi and Punjab. He was referring to Congress losing ground in both states.
“…The shortest story a mother in Delhi or Punjab, can narrate to her child is ‘Ek thi Congress’…” Mann said while addressing reporters when asked about the reported reluctance of state Congress leaders to have an alliance with AAP.

Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is in power in Delhi and Punjab, and the Congress are among the 28 constituents of the I.N.D.I.A bloc formed to take on the BJP in the upcoming general elections.
Earlier, when asked about the issue of seat adjustment among I.N.D.I.A bloc partners, Mann said these matters would be discussed in the alliance meeting.
"Only after things are finalised we will be able to tell," he said, adding, "We are fighting for the country. If the Constitution is saved, then everything else will remain."
When asked about the Defence Ministry's statement on Sunday over the tableau matter, Punjab CM said, “We will not send our tableaus in the rejected category for Bharat Parv. How is it possible to have a Republic Day parade without Punjab tableau? We respect our 'shaheeds' (martyrs) and this is unacceptable. We don’t need NoC from the BJP."

The Centre had on Sunday rejected as "baseless" Mann's criticism of the BJP-led government for not including the state's tableau in the Republic Day parade 2024 and his allegations of discrimination.
"The tableau proposal of Punjab was considered in the first three rounds of meeting of the Expert Committee. After the third round of meetings, the tableau of Punjab could not be taken forward by the Expert Committee for further consideration for not aligning to the broader themes of this year's tableau," it had said.
