Clash Erupts During Mahaviri Yatra On Nag Panchami In Bihar's Motihari: Watch
A clash erupted between two groups in Bihar's Motihari during the Mahaviri Yatra on Nag Panchami.
A clash broke out between two groups during the Mahaviri yatra on the occasion of Nag Panchami in Bihar's Motihari on Monday. Visuals showed instances of stone pelting during the clash. Police said the situation was peaceful now and a close watch was being kept on the developments. SDPO Nand Parsad appealed to people to participate in the procession peacefully.
SDPO Nand Parsad, while talking to the media about the clash, said, "Force is present everywhere and Magistrate is also present. The situation is peaceful now. We are keeping a close eye. I request everybody to participate in the Mahaviri Yatra peacefully."

Earlier in March, a clash erupted in Bihar between two groups on Ram Navami after which 130 arrests were made and 15 FIRs were lodged. Clashes were reported in areas such as —
Rohtas, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Munger.

Stone pelting and firing were reported during the clash after which Section 144 was imposed in the affected areas. Internet services were also shut down in Rohtas for more than a week. Heavy police forces were deployed in all the affected areas after the violence.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA and Deputy Chief Whip of the ruling party in Bihar Assembly Akhtarul Islam Shaheen then admitted that the violence that erupted was a result of administrative lapse. While speaking to ABP News, the MLA said that local administration including the Superintendent of Police, and Deputy Superintendent of Police were to be held accountable for the violence.
