Bihar Schools To Resume Physical Classes Till Standard 8 With 50% Capacity

The decision was taken in a Covid review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, to take stock of the pandemic situation in the state, on Sunday.

New Delhi: In the light of a decline in Covid cases, Bihar government has decided to reopen physical classes till Standard 8 with 50% attendance and from Classes 9 to 12 with full capacity.

The decision was taken in a Covid review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, to take stock of the pandemic situation in the state, on Sunday.

Noting that there was an improvement in the situation, Kumar, as quoted by news agency ANI, said, “In view of the improvement of the pandemic situation, all schools up to class 8th will be open with 50 per cent capacity, and all schools and colleges and coaching institutes belonging to classes 9th and above will open with 100 per cent attendance.”

The Chief Minister also added in another tweet that the government offices will resume and all vaccinated visitors will be allowed to enter the office.

CM Nitish Kumar also said that all types of social, political, cultural and entertainment events will be allowed to be organized in compliance with the Covid protocols and due permission from the district administration.

“Marriage ceremonies, funeral programs can be organized with the presence of a maximum of 200 persons,” Kumar said in a tweet.

The Chief Minister also said that all shops, shopping malls, establishments will be allowed to operate normally. He added that parks and gardens will remain open from 6am to 2pm. All cinema halls, theatres, gym, swimming pool, clubs, stadiums and restaurants will be allowed to function at 50% capacity.
