2 Coaches Of Bhopal-Bound Train Derail Near Rajasthan's Kota Junction, Rescue Ops On

Two coaches of a Bhopal-bound passenger train derailed near Kota Junction on Friday evening, officials said, as reported by news agency ANI. According to the officials, the coaches of the Jodhpur-Bhopal passenger train derailed, and no casualties have been reported yet. "No casualties have been reported. Rescue operations are underway," they added.

After the incident occurred, repair work was underway.

Last year in December, four coaches of the Ajmer-Sealdah Express got derailed while being taken to the yard for maintenance at Ajmer Junction, officials said, ANI reported. According to Chief Public Relations Officer Captain Shashi Kiran, no casualties were reported in the derailment incident.

Shashi Kiran further said that train movement is not disrupted and trains are passing through the second line. While efforts are underway to bring coaches back on track, they added.

In the same month, passengers staged a protest against the station master after a train from Chennai to Chengalpattu via Singaperumal temple was stopped for an hour in the Singaperumal temple area on Monday midnight, as reported by ANI.

The train was stopped after some wagons of a goods train derailed near the Chengalpattu railway station. On Sunday night, a goods train derailed near Chengalpattu. According to ANI, after the derailment, train movements from South Tamil Nadu towards Chennai were stopped.

The goods train that was heading towards Chennai Harbour and laden with iron rods derailed near Chengalpattu on Monday night, around 10.30 pm, ANI reported, citing railway officials. More than five coaches had derailed, they further added.
