VIDEO: Virat Kohli sends message to Team India fans in US ahead of T20 series against West Indies
New Delhi: India-West Indies Test series ended on 'wet' note as the fourth and final Test in Port of Spain was washed out with Men in Blue registering a 2-0 win -- their biggest in the Caribbean -- over the hosts.
Now, both the teams will head to Florida, US, for a short two-match T20I series where Indian cricket team will be playing for the time. India and West Indies will take on each other on August 27 (Saturday) and 28 (Sunday).
Indian cricketers are very excited to be playing in front of their fans in the US for the first time ever. India's Test captain Virat Kohli, in a video posted on Team India's official Facebook page, has asked fans to come to the ground in large numbers and support them.
India's limited-overs captain MS Dhoni will join the team in the US along with other T20 specialists.
Current World T20 champions West Indies are also sending a strong team full of T20 specialists, including Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, to the US. They, however, will be led by a new captain Carlos Brathwaite, who was their hero in the World T20 final against England. Brathwaite was made captain after the sacking of two-time World T20 champion skipper Darren Sammy earlier this month.
The last time these two teams faced each other, India had to suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of West Indies resulting in their ouster from the World T20. Now, India would be keen win the upcoming series and avenge the World T20 semi-final loss.
