Delhi Capitals' (DC) Director of Cricket Sourav Ganugly, in an exclusive conversation with Press Trust of India (PTI), shared a vital update on Rishab Pant's recovery and his comeback date.
Year 2023 is a vital year for the Indian cricket team. ODI World Cup 2023, set to be hosted on Indian soil, and World Test Championship (WTC) final will be organised this year. The Blues dealt with a huge setback when their prominent match-winner Rishabh Pant suffered injuries after a horrific car accident, last year. The star wicket-keeper is in a process of recovery after undergoing surgeries in a Mumbai hospital. He missed playing high-octane India vs Australia Test series and will also miss out on playing the 2023 season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals' (DC) Director of Cricket Sourav Ganugly, in an exclusive conversation with Press Trust of India (PTI), shared a vital update on Rishab Pant's recovery and his comeback date.
"I spoke to him a couple of times. Obviously he is going through a tough period, through injuries and surgeries and I wish him well. In a year's time or may be in a couple of years' time, he will be back playing for India," Ganguly told Press Trust of India (PTI).
Ganguly also revealed when Delhi Capitals will name a replacement for Pant.
"We still need a bit of time to figure out. The next camp starts before IPL," said Ganguly.
"The IPL is still a month away and the season has just started. It is difficult to get all the players together for the amount of cricket they play. There are four or five who are playing Irani Trophy. Sarfaraz has an injured finger and it's not a broken finger. He should be okay for the IPL," he added.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will commence on March 31. Delhi Capitals' first match in IPL 2023 is against KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 1.
