PSL 8: Video Of Babar Azam's Banter With Pakistan Teammate Hasan Ali Goes Viral

While Babar Azam was completing a single, he jokingly scared bowler Hasan Ali by pretending to hit him with his bat, forcing the bowler to run for cover.

PSL 2023: Babar Azam's fiery fifty went in vain as Islamabad United chased down Peshawar Zalmi's 157-run target easily inside 15 overs to seal a much-needed win -- their 2nd in the tournament. Peshawar suffered their second defeat in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8. In reply to Peshawar skipper Babar Azam's hard-fought 75, Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a fiery knock of 62 runs off 31 balls (seven 4s, four 6s) to steal the show.

Meanwhile, during Peshawar vs Islamabad PSL match, Babar Azam, while taking a quick single off Hasan Ali's over, decided to have fun with his Pakistan teammate. As Babar was completing the single, he jokingly scared Hasan by pretending to hit him with his bat, forcing the bowler to run for cover. The video of Babar's friendly banter with Hasan Ali went viral on social media. Also, Hasan Ali (3/35) was adjudged Player of the Match for his bowling heroics.

Babar Azam, during the post-match presser, opens up on conversation he had with Hasan Ali

"I wasn't saying much to him. I was just trying to compete with him because everyone knows that since he is making a comeback, he would put in extra effort. He wasn't in the best of forms but the way he bowled tonight, it shows that he is getting his rhythm back. I was having a bit of interaction with him, trying to put him under pressure but I guess it didn't work," Babar said.

Here's what Babar said after losing the match against Islamabad United

"We had a good start and executed our plans till then, but we lost back to back wickets. Hasan Ali bowled well and we lost the momentum. We tried to get it back but it was too late and we didn't get any partnerships. This was a 180-200 wicket. We are starting well but are not finishing strongly and that is an area we need to work on. But there are positives especially with the way Haris is batting in the powerplay. I started well but didn't finish the way I would have liked, it would have been different if there was a proper batter to support me at the other end," Babar said.
