Remember Tom Daley? UK Diver Spotted Knitting At Tokyo Olympics Takes Out Needles In Paris Too

At the opening ceremony, Tom Daley was also seen recreating the 'I'm flying, Jack' moment from the Hollywood blockbuster 'Titanic' with fellow Great Britain Olympics gold-medallist Helen Glover.

UK Olympics gold-medallist Tom Daley, who went viral at the Tokyo event when he was spotted knitting in the stands, did an encore in Paris on Saturday. The diver, a flag-bearer for Great Britain at the Olympics, began working on his latest knit as he watched women's diving at the Aquatics Centre. The five-time Olympian was cheering on for his teammates.

“Knit happens 🧶It wouldn’t be an #Olympics without @tomdaley knitting-in-the-crowd cameo! 😍, " the Olympics posted on Instagram.

The diver reshared the post with the caption "comment section is wild, but i be knitting", as well as several photos of him knitting a sweater with the word Paris on the front.

Daley was first seen knitting during the Tokyo Olympics, and videos of him peacefully knitting away went viral. During the 2020 Olympics, held in 2021, he won the gold medal in the men's 10-metre synchronised platform diving with Matty Lee.

According to NBC New York, Daley took up knitting after watching online tutorials during the pandemic lockdown.

“If you stay all the way up here with your energy levels and thinking about the dives, it ends up becoming quite draining by the end of it," he said at the time.

Daley, 30, got engaged to American screenwriter, director and producer Dustin Lance Black in October 2015. Black is an Oscar-winner for Best Original Screenplay for the biopic 'Milk'. They got married in May 2017.
