The focus shifts to the athletes on Saturday, July 27, with medals up for grabs. India aims to secure their first medals in shooting, with the 10m air rifle mixed team qualification and medal matches scheduled for July 27 (Saturday).
Ramita Jindal/Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan/Sandeep Singh will kick off their campaigns in the 10m air rifle mixed team event with the qualification rounds starting at 12:30 PM IST at the National Shooting Center in Chateauroux.
Rower Balraj Panwar will kick off India's participation on Saturday, with events starting at 12:30 PM IST. Later in the evening, India's hockey team will begin their group-stage campaign against New Zealand. In badminton, Lakshya Sen, the duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with the women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto, will compete in their first group-stage matches.
In tennis, veteran Rohan Bopanna will start his campaign alongside Sriram Balaji. The Indian duo faces a challenging first-round match in men's doubles against local favourites Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Fabien Reboul of France. Meanwhile, Harmeet Desai will compete in the men's singles table tennis event.
