Yogi Adityanath, Anurag Singh Thakur Launch Logo, Mascot, Jersey & Anthem Of Khelo India University Games
The 3rd edition of the Khelo India University Games will take place from May 23 to June 3; the opening ceremony is scheduled for May 25 at the Babu Banarasi Das University in Lucknow.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur launched the mascot, logo, jersey, and anthem of the Khelo India University Games 2022 (KIUG) at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar on Friday (May 5), ANI reported. Besides state capital Lucknow, the 3rd edition of the Khelo India University Games will be hosted by Noida, Gorakhpur and Varanasi, from May 23 to June 3; KIUG opening ceremony is scheduled for May 25 at the Babu Banarasi Das University in Lucknow.

"Once this state (Uttar Pradesh) was known for riots, but now it will be known for its 'dangals' which wrestlers will do here. Our medalists will win medals in rifle shooting," Union Minister Anurag Thakur was quoted as saying by ANI at the launch program of Khelo India University Games, Lucknow.

As per schedule, UP's capital Lucknow will host 12 sports (Archery, Judo, Mallakhamb, Volley Ball, Fencing, Badminton, Table Tennis, Rugby, Athletics, Hockey, Football) at 8 venues. Noida will host 5 sports (Basketball, Kabaddi, Boxing, Swimming and Weightlifting). IIT BHU, Varanasi will host 2 sports (Wrestling and Yogasan), while Gorakhpur and Delhi will organize Rowing and Shooting events, respectively. Rowing has been included in The Games for the first time.
