Virat Kohli Needs 51 Runs To Dethrone David Warner In IPL Charts

If Kohli scores 51 runs today, he will surpass Warner and claim the record for most runs against a single team in IPL history.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is in full swing, and all eyes are on the blockbuster clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3.

RCB's star batter Virat Kohli, who has been in outstanding form this season, is on the verge of breaking a major IPL record in today's match at Chepauk.

Virat Kohli poised to break Warner's record

Former India captain Virat Kohli is just 51 runs away from becoming the highest run-scorer against a single IPL team - a record currently held by David Warner.

Warner has scored 1134 runs in 26 matches against Punjab Kings. Kohli, on the other hand, has 1084 runs from 34 matches against CSK, including 9 half-centuries and a best score of 90*. He averages 37.37 with a strike rate of 125.46 against Chennai Super Kings.

If Kohli scores 51 runs today, he will surpass Warner and claim the record for most runs against a single team in IPL history.

So far in IPL 2025, Kohli has scored 443 runs in 10 matches at an average of 63.29. He is currently fifth in the Orange Cap standings and leads RCB's batting unit, with 39 fours and 13 sixes to his name.
