Suresh Raina Opens Up About His Chat With CSK Star Batter Post They Qualify For IPL Final
Once the game got over, Raina opened up about the chat that he had with CSK star batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, who said to him that the entire team wants to lift the trophy for Dhoni.
After MS Dhoni guided his team CSK to their 10th IPL final, former CSK player Suresh Raina reserved big praise on the skipper. The Yellow army outplayed the Gujarat Titans by 15 runs on Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and sealed their IPL 2023 final berth. Once the game got over, Raina opened up about the chat that he had with CSK star batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, who said to him that the entire team wants to lift the trophy for Dhoni.
"Look at how they reached the Finals, 14 season 10 finals, I think it's a great achievement. MS Dhoni kept it simple. He deserves credit and Ruturaj (Gaikwad) had told me that CSK wants to win the title for Dhoni. Entire India wants to see Dhoni win the IPL," Raina said while speaking on Jio Cinema.
"What we got to see today is that it's very challenging to beat Chennai on this ground. Everything he touches turns to gold, and that's why he's named Mahendra Singh Dhoni," he added.
As of now, under MS Dhoni’s leadership, CSK has already won four IPL titles. Only MI skipper Rohit Sharma is ahead of him who has won 5 IPL trophies as a skipper. Dhoni also spoke about his retirement plans and said he is not in a rush as a good 8 to 9 months are there for him to take a call.
"I don't know. I have eight or nine months to decide. The small auction will be around December, so why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. I will always be there for CSK, whether it is in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside”, Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.
"Frankly, it takes a heavy toll. I have been out of form for literally four months now. Jan 31st was the time when I finished my work and started practising from 2nd-3rd of March. It takes a lot but I have ample time to decide."
