Rajasthan Royals Offer Rs 260 Crore In Massive Bid To Takeover Yorkshire County Club: Report
It is being learnt that if the deal gets materalised then RR will have full control over the club which would mean that a member-only membership of the Yorkshire would come to an end.
In what is a massive news from the cricketing circuit, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) have reportedly offered a massive amount of money in order to take over the English domestic club Yorkshire CCC. It is pertinent to note that if the offer gets accepted then Yorkshire would go on to the become the first county club to be owned by an overseas franchise. As per a report carried by Daily Mail, it is being reported that Rajasthan Royals have made an offer of £25 million which is approximately Rs 260 crore.
Meanwhile, it is being learnt that if the deal gets materalised then Royals will have full control over the club which would mean that a member-only ownership of the the club would come to an end after over 160 years.

It is also being learnt that Yorkshire is also looking for bids at the moment, the primary reason being its massive debt of £15 million. There have been multiple reports of potential buyers looking forward to take over the county club. While the clubs is apparently in discussion with other IPL franchises, Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud, a Saudi prince is also interesting in taking over the club.
However, there is a difference between the deals. While RR have demanded a full ownership of the club, other interested parties have suggsted that they would look to maintain the member-only ownership.

Regarding the financial arrangement, the Rajasthan Royals intend to issue a loan note to Yorkshire, with the intention of converting it into equity at a later stage. This proposal from the inaugural IPL champions is scheduled for deliberation with Yorkshire's board members during the latter part of September 2023. A final decision on this matter is anticipated shortly thereafter.
Should this agreement be successfully finalized, the Rajasthan Royals will also explore opportunities to participate in The Hundred. It's noteworthy that Yorkshire holds a significant stake in The Hundred franchise known as the Northern Superchargers. This strategic partnership would enable the Royals to further expand their presence in England, building upon their track record of involvement in various domestic tournaments around the world.
