On the professional front, Kohli is currently in the middle of the IPL 2023 season with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. With Faf du Plessis being used only as a batter, thanks to the Impact Sub rule introduced this season, Kohli has led them franchise in their most recent fixtures. However, the South African is expected to be back at the helm of affairs for RCB's next match against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 1.
The same was hinted at by Kohli at the toss during Bangalore's last match against Kolkata Knight Riders. His personal form has been great this season with him having scored 333 runs in 8 innings this year already with the help of 5 half-centuries. His overall strike rate has also been impressive at 142.30.
