IPl 2025 Biggest Rumours: IPL 2025 is definitely going to be different from the other editions of the tournament. Prior to the event, some big names are likely to be either traded off to different teams or sold and bought at the mega auction. While there are media reports which suggest that marquee names like Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant may not be retained by by their respective franchises. Even though there is no confirmation yet but players could be allowed 4 retentions in which case some of the big names will enter this auction which will make things pretty interesting.

Rohit Sharma Can Leave Mumbai Indians

Before the start of the IPL 2024 season, MI had removed Rohit Sharma as the captain. He had been replaced by Hardik Pandya at the helm of affairs. Post that, there have been several reports which suggested that Rohit was not quite pleased with the team management with the team also divived into two- some still looking up to Rohit as the captain while others backing Hardik as the leader.

Amid all this, a claim made by a journalist had gone viral which suggested that Rohit could move to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) or Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) with LSG and DC reportedly saving 50 crores for him, if he were to come at the auction. However, a new media report suggests that all the differences may well be sorted between MI and the management and he could stay put at MI.

Sanju Samson At CSK?

In yet another report which seems to be primarily fuelled by social media banter, it was being claimed that Sanju Samson could move to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It began to trend online in no time. However, now with Rahul Dravid set to join Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the head coach, it is being learnt that Samson is going nowhere and will remain with the inauguaral IPL champions.

Shivam Dube To Ply His Trade For RR

An extension of the Samson rumour was that it would be a trade deal between RR and CSK with CSK sending all-rounder Shivam Dube to RR in exchange of Samson. However, there is no authentic source for the origin of such a narrative and it is unlikely that such a trade deal will materialise.

Rishabh Pant Likely To Quit Delhi Capitals?

Rishabh Pant has been with the Delhi Capitals (DC) with 2021. However, with Ricky Ponting parting ways with the franchise, it is being speculated that Pant might leave the franchise. There was also a report which suggested that with MS Dhoni's retirement sooner than later from the IPL, Pant could move to CSK, giving them an Indian wicketkeeping option, a theory viable even in the case of Samson.
