IPL Auction most expensive players list: Australia's leading fast bowler Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in history of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, 19 December in the Coca-Cola Arena. The veteran was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for record-breaking Rs. 24.75 crore. Earlier in the auction, Pat Cummins had secured the title of the highest-paid player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 2023 ODI World Cup winning captain was auctioned to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for an impressive Rs 20.50 crore after a fierce bidding competition.

Cummins being sold to SRH marked a historic occurrence as for the first time in IPL Auction history a player managed to break the 20-crore barrier.

Pat Cummins has consistently commanded high value in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Back in the 2019 auction, Cummins was acquired for a substantial sum of Rs 15.50 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Pat Cummins joins his Australian teammate Travis Head, who was secured by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs 6.8 crore earlier in the IPL auction.

Cummins surpassed the previous record held by Sam Curran, who was auctioned for Rs 18.50 crore to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2023 IPL auction.
