With the annual tournament just around the corner, all the eight IPL franchises are locking up in the IPL Auction 2021 Chennai on Thursday to prepare the best squad for the upcoming season.

Punjab Kings (PK) has the biggest purse in the IPL Auction 2021 of Rs 53.20 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) each have a salary cap of Rs 10.75 crore, which is the lowest in IPL Auction 2021. Rajasthan Royals (RR) have an available salary cap of Rs 37.85 Crore followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who have salary-cap space of Rs 35.40 crore. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are looking at the IPL Auction 2021 with a salary cap space of Rs 19.90 crore and IPL 2020 winners Mumbai Indians (MI) have salary cap available at Rs 15.35 crore. Delhi Capitals (DC) are in the fray with a salary cap of Rs 13.4 crore.

It looks like Punjab Kings will do the maximum business as they have a big purse remaining due to the let-offs they did prior to the IPL Auction 2021.

Overall 292 players will go under the hammer during the IPL Auction 2021 out of which only 61 players will be getting an IPL contracts. A total of 1,114 cricketers had shown their interest in being part of IPL 2021. BCCI then trimmed list as the eight IPL franchises submitted their choice of players. In the lot which will go under the hammer in IPL Auction 2021, 164 cricketers are Indians while 125 are overseas players and 3 players are from ICC's Associate Nations. During the IPL Auction 2021, the highest reserve price is at Rs 2 Crore and the lowest base price is at Rs 20 Lakh, which has uncapped players.
