CSK vs RR Highlights, IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets in what could be their final home match in IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 12). The win has taken the Men in Yellow to 14 points with 7 wins from 13 matches as RR's wait for a confirmed berth in the race to the Playoffs continued with their third defeat on the trot. 

Even though RR won the toss and elected to bat first, they only managed to muster 141/5 in their 20 overs. Simarjeet Singh was the pick of the bowlers for CSK as he finished with figures of 3/26 off his four overs. Tushar Deshpande was the other wicket-taker for the Men in Yellow, finishing with 2 wickets for 30. In the modest run-chase, CSK did have their moments of struggle and hiccups but eventually they reached their target with 10 balls to spare.

CSK vs RR: Ruturaj Gaikwad Takes CSK Over The Line

In the run-chase, Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored for CSK as he remained unbeaten on 42 off 41 balls. Daryl Mitchell scored 22 off 13 while Rachin Ravindra made 27 off 18 as the Men in Yellow reached their target in 18.2 overs, winning the match with 10 balls to spare. In a controversial incident from the match, Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged 'Obstructring The Field' out after the umpire reckoned that he changed the direction of his run back to his crease after he saw thet throw being made by the fielder.

The decision, however, did not cost CSK but is likely to attract strong views from people at both ends of the debate. Chennai's last league match of IPL 2024 will be against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
