RCB vs DC: Virat Kohli On Verge Of Creating History, Will Become First Player In IPL History To...

Virat Kohli will become the only player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to play 250 IPL matches for a team.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli is going to set a new record in tonight's RCB vs DC IPL 2024 match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (May 12). 'King Kohli' will become the only player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to play 250 IPL matches for a team.

Virat has already played 250 T20 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) if we consider his 15 appearances for the franchise in the Champions League T20. Tonight, Kohli marks his distinction as the first player to complete 250 appearances for a single franchise in the IPL.

With less than a month remaining until the T20 World Cup 2024, Indian star batsman Virat Kohli has been showcasing his lethal form on the cricket field.

In the ongoing IPL 2024 season for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kohli has delivered outstanding innings, scoring 634 runs in 12 IPL matches at a strike rate of 153.51 and an average of over 70. The T20 legend is currently the IPL 2024 Orange Cap holder (most runs in an IPL season).

In RCB's recent clash against Punjab Kings, Virat Kohli smashed 92 runs off just 47 balls. His explosive knock included 7 fours and an impressive tally of 8 sixes. His stellar batting performance silenced the critics who had been questioning his strike rate in T20 cricket.

Can Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) still make it to IPL 2024 Playoffs?

With 60 league stage matches already completed in IPL 2024, the race to secure a spot in the top four is intensifying. Despite Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) already securing a berth in IPL 2024 playoffs, the battle for the remaining top-four positions remains intense.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), currently placed 7th in the points table with 10 points from 12 matches, have a pathway to enter the IPL 2024 playoffs. To achieve this, they must secure 'big margin wins' against Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 12 and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 18.

Additionally, RCB's chances depends on Mumbai Indians defeating Lucknow Super Giants on May 17 and Gujarat Titans failing to win at least one of their remaining two league stage matches.

In this scenario, RCB, DC, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and CSK will all finish the league stage with 14 points. The team advancing to the playoffs will be determined by net run rate (NRR), with the team possessing the superior NRR earning the playoff berth.
