Virat Kohli Trolled on Social Media: The eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was played on Monday. In the nail-biting thriller played at Sharjah, KKR defeated Virat Kohli-captained RCB by four wickets. With this defeat, Kohli's dream of winning the IPL trophy as RCB skipper was shattered.
Some extremely disappointed RCB fans started trolling Virat Kohli and his team on social media. One fan wrote that now it is understood that there is no point in supporting RCB. Fans also expressed their reaction through memes.
KKR vs RCB Eliminator was Virat Kohli's last match for RCB as captain. After the match, Virat Kohli said he tried to give 120 percent on his behalf. Not only that, Virat also announced that he would not join any other team, than RCB.
On playing the last match as captain, Virat Kohli said, "I gave my best, I tried to get the youngsters here and play aggressively. I have done the same with the Indian team. I tried on my behalf, but I can't say what was its response. I have given my 120 percent, I will give my best on the field as a player in the future also."
Virat Kohli had announced about him stepping down as RCB skipper before the second session of IPL-14 began. Kohli had been in command of RCB for 9 years. He was made captain in 2013 to replace Daniel Vettori. Under Kohli's captaincy, RCB could not become IPL champions even once. Kohli will leave RCB as well as the Indian team's captaincy in the T20 format after T20 World Cup. Virat Kohli's said he took this decision due to the ever increasing workload and its impact on his batting.
