IPL 2021: BCCI Mulling To Relocate Remaining Matches In Mumbai Amid Covid Concerns; Finale Likely To Get Delayed
IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering to host remaining matches all in Mumbai. Several reports have claimed that Mumbai could be hosting matches as early as the coming weekend.
Covid scare has shadowed the excitement for the ongoing 14th edition of Indian Premier League after since the reports emerged about couple of players in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camps contracting novel Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering to host remaining matches all in Mumbai. Several reports have claimed that Mumbai could be hosting matches as early as the coming weekend.

If reports are to be believed, the development could mean a rearranged schedule with more doubleheaders, and high chances for the final to be shifted from May 30 to early June.
One of the biggest challenges for the BCCI will be to create the all-important and talked-about bio-security bubble which includes finding hotels as well as training facilities where the players could stay and practice.
There are three grounds in Mumbai --Wankhede, Brabourne and DY Patil. During the first leg of the IPL, all three grounds were used by the teams for training purposes. It isn't going to take much effort to get them ready as the Wankhede Stadium has been hosting IPL matches while the other two venues have often been used for training sessions.

On Monday, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier of Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp tested positive for the virus in Ahmedabad. Soon, reports emerged suggesting that three members of the Chennai Super Kings - chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, a bus cleaner and bowling coach L Balaji also contracted the novel Coronavirus.
