IPL 2021: Three Members Of Chennai Super Kings' IPL Contingent Test Covid-19 Positive

IPL 2021 news: Reportedly, chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, a bus cleaner and bowling coach L Balaji - have tested Covid-19 positive.

After a couple of players from KKR tested Covid positive, reports have now emerged suggesting three members of the Chennai Super Kings - chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, a bus cleaner and bowling coach L Balaji - have tested Covid-19 positive. As per a report on Cricinfo, rest of the CSK squad, which is currently in Delhi, has tested negative. On Monday, the three members underwent a Covid-19 test just to discover that it wasn't a false test.

The trio will be asked to spend 10 days in an isolation facility if they test Covid-19 positive again. To re-enter the bio-bubble again, they need to return with two negative tests. Amid the situation, CSK's match against Rajasthan Royals on May 5 has not been canceled or postponed and is set to take place in Delhi.

This follows the news that IPL 2021's May 3 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be rescheduled after two Kolkata Knight Riders players Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrior tested positive for COVID-19.

This season, 29 IPL matches have been played so far. All the matches have been organized in a bio-secure environment, with many restrictions imposed for players' safety.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently enacted more stringent rules regarding bio-bubble protocols. Instead of the Covid-19 test every five days, all players were asked to get tested after every two days.
