India started their T20 campaign against West Indies with a scintillating win in the series opener. After a remarkable 3-0 clean sweep over Windies, India kicked off the five-match T20 International series with a win. The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and West Indies was played on Friday night, in which India defeated West Indies by 68 runs to take 1-0 lead.
The hero of India's win in Ind vs WI 1st T20I was senior wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik. The star batter faced 19 balls and played an unbeaten inning of 41 runs with help of 2 sixes and 4 fours with a jaw-dropping strike rate was 215.79. Karthik's innings helped team India post 190 while batting first, which proved enough against West Indies.
