New Delhi: Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Younis Khan has decided to call it a day. Younis will pull the curtains down on his glorious career after the Test series against West Indies.
Younis is expected to achieve a milestone of 10,000 Test runs during the series, for which he just needs 23 runs. He is also Pakistan’s highest-run scorer in Test cricket.
Khan said he was under lot of pressure from family and friends not to retire but he thought that this was the best moment in his life to make decision.
"I was under a lot of pressure, getting calls from everyone. But there comes a time in a player's life when they have to make a decision," he said.
The 40-year-old has represented Pakistan in 115 Test matches, scoring 9,997 runs with 313 against Sri Lanka in Feb 2009 being his highest individual score.
Earlier this week, Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq decided to quit international cricket after the Test series against West Indies.
