WPL T20 Auction: Twitter Reacts As Smriti Mandhana Set To Get More Than Babar Azam In PSL

Mandhana got a whopping amount of Rs 3.40 crore from Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 Auction took place on Monday, February 13, in Mumbai. India’s explosive left-hand batter Smriti Mandhana was the highlight of the auction as she got a whopping amount of Rs 3.40 crore from Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Mandhana isn't just the costliest buy in WPL 2023 auction, but also will earn more money than any other Pakistani cricketer is getting in the Pakistan Super League. Players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and others draw a lesser salary in PSL.

In PSL, there is a draft system and those who are in the platinum category have a salary of $170k. Top Pakistan players are earning a maximum of Rs 1.40 crores while Mandhana will be getting double the amount.

As soon as the WPL auction commenced, the Indian fans on Twitter started trolling Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

"Everyone knows Mandhana and Perry, we were pretty committed to the couple of people we wanted to get. we're very happy to get such quality players. it's a dream result for us to get Mandhana, Perry and Devine. Smriti has got plenty of captaincy experience and is familiar with the Indian conditions so highly likely," Mike Hesson, RCB's director of cricket, told the press on the auction day.
