MP: 10-Year-Old Boy Who Fell Into Borewell Taken Out, Dies
A 10-year-old boy, Sumit Meena, who was rescued from a 140-foot-deep borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district after a 16-hour operation, has died.
A 10-year-old boy who fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district and was taken out on Sunday after a 16-hour rescue operation, has died.
As per Dr Rahul Raghuvanshi of Guna district hospital, where the 10-year-old boy was admitted, "...The boy was brought dead here. We have certified that and shifted the body to the postmortem room, and the further procedure is going on."

Earlier, a senior police official said that the boy was immediately rushed to the hospital to provide medical assistance as he is breathing slow and is in inconscious state as of now.

As per the information received from the police, the boy Sumit Meena fell into into the open shaft of the borewell on Saturday evening, while he was flying kite in a farm field.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Guna) Man Singh Thakur said "The administration recieved the information about the child's incident yesterday evening and the operations to begin the boy's rescue started around 6 PM yesterday. The overnight rescue operation was carried out with the help of two rescue teams of Madhya Pradesh Police, and finally, the boy was taken-out of the borewell today morning, around 9:30 AM."

As per Raghogarh Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh, who was present at the spot, the boy got trapped at a depth of around 39 feet. Guna Collector Satendra Singh said that the borewell was around 140-feet-deep and a parallel 25-feet-deep was dug to rescue the child.
In another news, the rescue operations to save three-year-old Chetna from a 700-feet deep borewell in Rajasthan's Kotputli is still underway. Chetna fell into the borewell on December 23.
