WATCH: When Kohli & Ishant Planned The Dismissal Of Temba Bavuma

Kohli advised him to bowl a bowl getting in from the off stump. Ishant responded accordingly and trapped Bavuma in the front

Indian skipper Virat Kohli displayed a phenomenal example of leadership on the third day of the ongoing Test against South Africa. He utilised his situation-reading skills to help his bowling unit in getting the wicket of the dangerous Temba Bavuma. The incident happened during the 27th over when speedster Ishant Sharma was in the attack. He had already bowled four deliveries off his previous over to Bavuma outside off stump, which hardly bothered the batsman. Thus, Kohli advised him to bowl a bowl getting in from the off stump. Ishant responded accordingly and angled the ball from outside the off-stump which came back in slightly to hit the Bavuma on the back pads. The on-field umpire took no time in raising his finger and Bavuma was seen walking off the pitch for 18. Here’s the video: “Virat Kohli was just having a word with Ishant Sharma just before the ball. (It seems like he is telling him to) just get the ball to come back in from outside the off stump,” the commentator was heard on the screen. Later in the game, Dean Elgar (160) and Quinton de Kock (111) slammed centuries to guide the visitors beyond the 300-run mark. The day remained hectic for the Indian bowlers as they toiled hard for a few scalps. However, R. Ashwin finished with his 27th fifer to bring the hosts right back into the game in the third session. At stumps, South Africa's score read 385/8 with Senuran Muthusamy (12) and Keshav Maharaj (3) at the crease. The Proteas still trail by 117 runs with just two wickets in hands.
