Winnipeg Hawks’ coach, Waqar Younis, is confident of Warner’s capabilities as a captain having seen him lead his side Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL to win the title.

"I'm sure he's going to be a good leader when it comes to captaincy. He is a leader. He's a team man. I've seen him in IPL and I've seen him as a leader. He's up there, he's upfront and he likes to give whatever his knowledge is, he's always there," said Younis, in a report.

The left-handed batsman David Warner has had an impressive record as a captain. Not only has he led his team in the IPL, he has also led his country in 12 International matches and lost only 1 which was affected due to rain.

The Aussie is banned from leading his country for life following the ball tampering incident which took place earlier this year. He is also serving a year-long ban as penalty for the incident and this is the first time when Warner and his accomplice in the incident, Steve Smith, are appearing on the field for the first time after the incident.
