Following Pakistan's Shock Defeat To Bangladesh, THIS Pak Legend Likely To Step Down

PAK vs BAN: Even some of the cricketing experts and pundits are in shock after Pakistan's defeat to Bangladesh, given that they were playing at home.

Pakistan men's cricket team are not going through a good phase. Following their group-stage exit in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in which they lost to the United States of America (USA), they have not lost to Bangladesh in a Test match for the first time. The Shan Masood-led team succumbed to a 10-wicket defeat to Bangladesh which has left even some of the crickting experts and pundits in a state of shock especially given the fact that they were playing at home.

It is a shameful loss for Pakistan who went on to lose match after declaring their first innings at 448/6. However, they did not put on a good show with the bat in the second innings, with the team getting all out for 146. The Pakistani batting lineup had no answer to the questions asked by the Bangladeshi bowlers which meant that the visitors only needed 30 runs to win which they managed without losing a single wicket.

Big Jolt To Pakistan

And now following the team's defeat, the side received another massive jolt with a Pakistan legend likely to step down. It is being learnt that the former speedster Waqar Younis could resign from his role as Advisor of Cricket Affairs to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi after beginning his stint not long ago. Waqar was handed over the role after the likes of Wasim Akram said no to the role due to workload and personal reasons.

On the other hand, Waqar has already worked extensively  with the team as part of the coaching staff and was then trusted with this role after there were several complaints over Mohsin not being as effective in administration when it came to actual cricketing affairs. Waqar is mulling to quit because some officers in the International Cricket Department are reportedly not cooperating with him, says a piece carried by Cricket Pakistan which also claims that PCB are looking for new candidates to replace him.
