The legendary cricketers are in Varanasi for the foundation stone laying ceremony for the International Cricket Stadium in the city.

Renowned Indian cricket icons, including Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar, have arrived in Varanasi on Saturday (September 23) to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of an international cricket stadium in Uttar Pradesh. The event, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to perform the foundation stone laying ceremony for the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi, is scheduled for the afternoon.

While Shastri and Sachin even shared pictures before they took the flight to Varanasi, a video has also emerged in which Sachin can be seen paying a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Take a look at the viral pictures and videos here:

Earlier, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath had also taken to X to inform about the ceremony. "Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji will lay the foundation stone of 'International Cricket Stadium' costing approximately ₹ 451 crores in Varanasi tomorrow," a part of his post read.

The stadium when built will be the third international cricket stadium in the state of Uttar Pradesh after Kanpur's Green Park and Lucknow's newly constructed Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
