Tilak Varma Gets Special Message From Dewald Brevis After His India Debut

Just after the Match got over, Varma’s colleague from the Mumbai Indians camp, Dewald Brevis came up with a very special message for the young batter.

On the back of brilliant performances in a couple of seasons of IPL, left-hand batter Tilak Varma got his maiden call-up in the five-match T20I series against West Indies. While playing his debut game, the 20-year-old batter showed intent, smashing 39 runs off 22 deliveries and also grabbed a terrific catch to dismiss Johnson Charles in the ninth over.

Just after the Match got over, Varma’s colleague from the Mumbai Indians camp, Dewald Brevis came up with a very special message for the young batter. The South Africa-based player wished Tilak on his impressive debut and also said that he got goosebumps after witnessing those two sixes by the Hyderabad-based batter in the first three deliveries that he faced.

“Hey brother, I hope you are very excited. I don’t know If I am more excited than you, but I just want to say from my side and from the Brevis family, congratulations on your debut. It’s such a great moment for you and your family. I can just imagine how happy your parents and everyone must be. It’s great to see you out there, living your dream out,” Brevis said in a video.

“Those shots on the second and third ball gave me goosebumps. You always have my support and all the best for rest of the series. I’m backing you fully and go win every game for Team India. Cheers brother!” the youngster added.

Though Tilak batted well still the Indian team failed to win the first T20I in Trinidad. After batting first, West Indies posted a total of 149 runs, kudos to Pooran and Rovman Powell, who did a commendable job in the middle.

While chasing, team India kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Tilak stood there from one end. However, Tilak’s innings was not enough and Hardik Pandya’s led team India lost the game by four runs.
