Team India now lead the successful run chase charts in T20Is with 41 chases in just 61 matches . The record was previously owned by Australia, who have won 40 in 69 matches.

Rohit Sharma-led Indian team registered a clinical 8-wicket win over Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I at Rajkot to break the record for the most successful run chases in T20 internationals. After their series leveling win over the 'Bangla Tigers', team India now lead the successful run chase charts in T20Is with 41 chases in just 61 matches . The record was previously owned by Australia, who have won 40 in 69 matches. Rohit Sharma led from the front and scored a blitzkrieg 85-run knock to help India chase down a below part 154-run target with relative ease against Bangladesh Former world champions and World No. 1 Pakistan are 3rd on the list with 36 wins from 67 matches while South Africa and England are joint-fourth with 28 wins each in run-chases. India has been a dominant side when it comes to chasing down imposing totals against the best of opponents in the shorter format of the game. India's notable record in run chases has largely been built on the back of India's captain Virat Kohli stupendous batting form while chasing totals. The 'Chase Master' averages 111.50 in successful run chases in T20I cricket. He has scored 1115 runs in 25 instances of India winning after fielding first. On the contrary, he just averages 33.40 in matches India batted first in T20I cricket. Star opener and stand-in-captain Rohit Sharma has scored 849 runs at an average of 30.32 in matches India won after fielding first. Former captain MS Dhoni also has a phenomenal average in India's successful run chases. In 29 matches, Dhoni has amassed at 72.50 and an impressive strike rate of 142.15. On Thursday, India were lucky as they won the toss in their must-win 2nd T20I. Captain Rohit Sharma did not have any second thoughts about India bowling first on a flat pitch at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Ahead of the ongoing T20I series, Rohit Sharma had said India will focus on setting and defending targets, an area where they have failed miserably in the recent past.
