IND vs BAN: Tamim Iqbal Says 'Watch Out Now' As Bangladesh Star Comes Out To Bat, Brings Up Sledging 'History' With Virat Kohli

Tamim Iqbad brought up Virat Kohli's sledging "history" with a Bangladesh batter when he came out to bat in the IND vs BAN 1st Test on air.

Virat Kohli, India's batting mainstay, is known for time and again having a bit of a chatter with the opposition players. While he has gone on record saying that one someone tries to sledge him, it tends to get the better of him, he often does the same to the opposition when he is fielding perhaps in a bid to break their concentration. In the same line when Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim came out to bat in the middle in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, ex-Bangladesh star Tamim Iqbal said on commentary that given Kohli's sledging 'history' with the Bangladesh star, he expectes something interesting.

However, ex-India head coach Ravi Shastri was also sitting in the commentary box. The 1983 World Cup winner with India did not miss out on the opportunity to take a dig with his response with their exchange happening on air.

"Mushfiqur Rahim is batting, Virat Kohli is in the slips. Watch out now. Keep an eye on them. They have quite the history," Tamim said during commentary to which Shastri cheekily said: "What history?"

The former Bangladesh captain, however, was quick to respond: "Oh, you know, Ravi. You know what history I am talking about.”

What Mushfiqur Rahim Had Said About Virat Kohli

"Whenever I play against him, he always tries to sledge me every time I go in to bat because he is a really competitive guy and he doesn't want to lose any cricket match. I really love that rivalry with him and the challenge that comes with facing him and India," Mushfiqur said.

Meanwhile, as far as the Chennai Test is concerned, India took a 227-run lead in the first innings but decided not to enforce the follow on. They Men in Blue have already taken their overall lead past 350 on Day 3 and with plenty of time left, they could afford to bat longer before asking Bangladesh to bat again.
