Former Australia pacer peter Siddle will return to English County side Essex after an impressive performance in the first stint, earlier this season, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

Siddle will play four matches for Essex at the start of the season, clinching at 20 wickets at an average of 16.10. The 33-year-old will re-join the current county champions for 8 T20 Blast matches plus the quarter-final. However, the deal does not extend to T20 finals day as he will return to Australian for the domestic season with Victoria.

He will also play three Championship games against Somerset, Hampshire and Surrey.

"I loved my time at the Club earlier in the season, and I can't wait to get back to Chelmsford and play for the Eagles again," Siddle said.

"It was a little bit of a stop start period with the weather, but I am looking forward to getting a run of games together in both Blast and Championship cricket,” he added.

Siddle has featured in 62 Tests, 17 ODIs and 2 T20Is, colleting a combined 229 wickets.
